Precision trimming for increased efficiency

Laser replaces knives: The new L240 by Hinterkopf applies a non-contacting laser technology in the precision trimming of aluminum cans. Two of these innovative machines perform at Swiss based tube and can maker Nussbaum, and increase productivity of existing production lines.

Perfect results from first to last cut

The company Nussbaum located in Matzingen, Switzerland has recently purchased two brand new trimming machines type L240. Both trimming machines are replacing existing trimming machines from a different supplier, and help increase performance of the company.

Instead of mechanical knives, the new L240 utilizes laser technology – a worldwide first. The laser cutters are non-contacting, and do not touch the cans during processing. Thanks to the new technology, the results are impeccable, with perfect precision from first to last can every time. This new technology eliminates the startup waste. In addition, the laser ensures a perfect cut free of burrs or defects, therefore ensuring a trouble free further processing of the trimmed cans downstream. Laser cutting becomes a key technology in minimizing production waste.
